Charlotte Coles, Graduate Teaching Assistant.

I am currently working towards my doctorate in biochemistry, based in the Division of Structural Biology at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. My research is focused upon a class of the protein tyrosine phosphatase family of cell surface receptors which are widely expressed in the developing nervous system and play an important role in axon guidance and targeting. Along with structural work, primarily X-ray crystallography, I am also using a range of biophysical and cellular imaging techniques to investigate the interaction of these receptors with their binding partners. Before my graduate studies, I completed a chemistry undergraduate degree here in Oxford. I am now teaching a range of topics including biophysics, structural techniques and data analysis at Oriel.
