Fixed-term stipendiary lectureship (6 hours) in Physics
Oriel College seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Physics to cover the leave of Prof Pedro Ferreira for a fixed term of 12 months from October 2012. Candidates should have completed, or be near to completing, a doctorate, and should be able to demonstrate relevant teaching experience.
Applicants should be able to teach as many of the following topics as possible: First and Second Year Mathematics, Thermal and Statistical Physics, General Relativity and Cosmology.
The basic stipend will be £12,260 - £13,789 per annum depending on experience. In addition the post-holder will have access to research and entertainment allowances. The Lecturer will be entitled to free lunch and dinner in the Senior Common Room. Contributory membership of USS (the Universities Superannuation Scheme) is also offered.
