Canadian Donors

The University of Oxford is able to issue tax receipts for gifts made to Oriel from Canadian donors, as long as gifts are made to the University, and not to Oriel. The University will then forward gifts on to Oriel on a monthly basis.

Gifts to Oriel can be made online via the University website by selecting 'Colleges' from the drop down menu or by post, in which case we would ask you to send gifts via the Oriel College Development Trust so that we can note your gift before we pass it on for processing. Once your gift has been received by the University you will receive a tax receipt and a letter confirming receipt and where it has been allocated.

Note on Credit Card donations
We regret that the University is not able to process credit card donations in foreign currencies. If a donor states that they wish to give a Canadian dollar amount, the donation will be translated into sterling and the sterling amount will be debited from their card.

The credit card company will then translate the sterling amount back into Canadian dollars on the donor’s credit card statement.
