Finance
Before applying to university you should familiarise yourself with the current fee and funding situation. There have been some big changes recently, and you need to know the facts before you can work out what it means for you.
Information on undergraduate fees and funding (Oxford University website).
For English students there are two important facts:
1. You will not have to pay any tuition fees upfront
No-one has to turn up with piles of cash. The government will pay your fee and you will sign up to pay this back gradually AFTER GRADUATION, and only once you are earning over £21,000. In addition anyone with a household income of less than £25,000 will have their fee substantially reduced by the university.
2. Oxford University has A generous bursary scheme
In order to make sure you can afford to live while at university, Oxford gives generous living expenses to everyone with a household income of less than £42,600. You do not have to repay this money. Our aim is that no-one should be prevented from coming to Oxford because of the cost. The only thing that matters to us is your academic ability and potential.
