Legacies & Bequests

Oriel was founded, and its historic buildings largely built, with Legacies. Generous bequests have been a principal source of financial support throughout the history of the College. Oriel now operates in a global academic community, and to stay at this level must find the resources to provide the combination of world-class research and the very best educational experience for students that is the mark of a world-class university.

The Adam de Brome Society has been founded by Oriel to recognize with gratitude those who have chosen to make provision for the College in their Will. The Society holds an luncheon each year in March. Read more in our Adam de Brome brochure. There is also a scheme whereby a legacy pledge of £25,000 and above will secure the naming of a room at James Mellon Hall, or of £50,000 and above for a room in College.

If you have already included Oriel in your will but not told us of your intention, may we ask you to consider doing so? Not only does it help us with our financial planning but it also allows us to say thank you for your future support and to discuss any particular wishes you might have.

For further information on the ways in which you can make a legacy bequest to Oriel, you can request a copy of our Legacy Brochure. Alternatively, contact Sean Power, Development Director on 01865 276964, email: Sean.Power@oriel.ox.ac.uk
