Prof Lars Fugger, MD, PhD

I am a clinical immunologist who trained at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and at Stanford University in the USA. I moved to Oxford on a sabbatical in 2002 and became professor of Clinical Immunology in 2004 and professor of Neuroimmunology in 2007 where I also joined Oriel as the Mark Machin Professorial Fellow.

My research is focused on translational studies in multiple sclerosis and my group is therefore consisting of both basic scientists and clinicians. We are a taking a multidisciplinary approach to investigate how genes in interplay with environmental factors confer risk to multiple sclerosis.
