Recognising your Support
The Raleigh Society

Oriel was established by philanthropy and would not survive without the visionary support of its many benefactors. All contributors to the 2026 Campaign will be listed in a book of donors and in annual listings in the Oriel Record.
In addition, the College is pleased to offer the following ways of acknowledging your support.
To recognise Oriel’s most generous donors, the Provost and Fellows have established the Raleigh Society, a new community of Oriel’s major supporters, open to all those who contribute £10,000 or more.
The Raleigh Society encourages a more direct and constructive engagement between the College’s major donors and the Fellows and provides a better forum for matters of mutual interest. Members are invited by the Provost to the Annual Raleigh Society Garden Party and have an open invitation to be guests at High Table each year, and to stay for the night in the Raleigh Fellows’ room or other Fellows’ guestrooms.
Provost’s Court
Substantial donors to Oriel, who contribute £100,000 or more, will also be invited to join the Provost’s Court which will
meet annually to hear about and discuss the College’s future plans.
Naming Opportunities
Oriel is happy to explore with individuals naming opportunities in various areas including Fellowships, bursaries, specific rooms and buildings. Please contact Sean Power, Director of Development, on 01865 276964 or email sean.power@oriel.ox.ac.uk to discuss.
The Adam de Brome Society
The Adam de Brome Society has been founded by Oriel to recognise with gratitude those who have chosen to make provision for the College in their Will. Members of this Society are invited together with their spouse or guest to an annual lunch and will be invited to a series of regional events. Members are also encouraged to make use of the Benefactors’ Room in College as a venue for small gatherings or lunches.
