History (Ancient and Modern)

History (Ancient and Modern)

This course offers the broadest and most flexible route to a History degree.

You can choose courses from the whole History curriculum as well as the Ancient History papers offered by the Classics Faculty.

In the second year you will take part in the Disciplines of History seminars with the single subject historians, and there is an option to study Latin or Greek from beginners’ level.

Students are free to weight their studies towards antiquity and the early middle ages, or to spread their papers more broadly.

Admissions criteria

Short-listing by History Aptitude Test and GCSE results (contextualized by school performance data). Admission by written work, interviews, and AAA at A-level or equivalent. There are no required subjects, and we consider applicants who do not have A-level History.
