Room Booking Form (Students)

Most public rooms in College may be reserved outside normal teaching hours by members of College without charge. The MacGregor Room may be reserved during the day, but is reserved for the JCR after 6pm.

There are two ways to book a room:

Students can book the following rooms (the Sanders Room, the Basil Mitchell Room, the JCR Annexe, and the MacGregor Room (subject to the conditions above)) up to 48 hours in advance without the need for a deposit or decanal permission. No noise should be audible outside the room, no food or alcohol should be served. Guests of members of College may attend, provided that they are escorted by their hosts at all times while on College premises. In order to comply with the College’s Prevent duty, meetings addressed by an external speaker must receive decanal approval in accordance with the policy stated below. Bookings are expected to be reasonable and each not more than 3hrs. Bookings that meet these conditions can be made directly at the Lodge.

For all other cases permission must first be obtained from a Dean at least 72 hours before the room is required. Students should fill in the online form: https://intranet.oriel.ox.ac.uk/events

A booking is not confirmed until Decanal permission has been granted, and the booking is made at the lodge, with any necessary deposit. For further guidance, please see the College Handbook or email the Junior Deans (deans@oriel.ox.ac.uk).
