We had some four-legged visitors in College on Friday of 6th week as five dogs from Guide Dogs UK held court in the JCR Annexe.

The event was arranged by JCR Disability and Equal Opportunities rep Jade Tinslay to help students ‘de-stress’ during peak exam period. It was also an opportunity for students to find out more about Guide Dogs UK, and the event raised £770 for the charity.

Jade says: “I’d seen that other universities had done similar schemes for de-stressing events, so I thought it was a good idea, and it's wonderful to raise awareness of such a fantastic charity! We got both Oriel and Queen’s colleges’ students involved, and the charity got lots of its guide dogs along, so it was great bringing them together.”

Photos of the event were taken by JCR member César Manivet.
