Research interests

Amy’s research focuses on how bilingualism can provide a framework to understand the relationship between science and religion. Treating science and religion as individual languages of a discourse community, Amy’s research examines various themes in linguistics such as dialects, sociolects, language and power, language development, second language acquisition, translation, and translanguaging and applies them to the field of science and religion. Amy hopes to provide an insight that science and religion can interact with one another just as two languages interact in a bilingual person.
