Food Service Assistant (Afternoon / Evening Shift)

Salary: £11.62 per hour

We are seeking to recruit Food Service Assistants to complement the SCR, Hall and Bar teams in order to ensure that an excellent food and drink service is provided to all College users.

Duties will include laying out tables and rooms for functions and the service of food and drinks to students, staff and conference guests. You will be involved in stocktaking, cash handling as well as helping to ensure that all aspects of Hall, SCR and bar cleanliness is maintained.

You will be required to maintain good order in the Hall, SCR and bar areas and adhere to licensing law in relation to the sale of alcohol.

To be successful, you will have previous experience of working in a catering role and supervising others. In addition, you will possess good organisational skills, excellent customer service, good communication and interpersonal skills, be of smart appearance, personable and able to converse fluently in English.

In this role, you will be expected to work on a roster basis including some evenings and weekends. Hours of work will be 40 per week on a 7-day rota with 2 days off per week.  In addition to a highly competitive salary benefits include 38 days holiday including public holidays, meals on duty, pension scheme, travel loan scheme, cycle to work scheme and uniform. A free meal on duty will be provided when working a full shift.
