The Venerable David Meara
Acting Chaplain
The Venerable
David
Meara

I have had a long standing relationship with Oriel as I was an undergraduate here from 1966-1970, studying Classics and then Theology before being ordained in 1973.

I have served both in the Oxford and London Dioceses, latterly as Rector of St Bride’s Fleet Street, and then as Archdeacon of London. I am now retired and living in Kidlington, just north of the Oxford ring road. I am excited about being Acting Chaplain for Michaelmas Term and look forward to meeting staff and students, and welcoming you to the Chapel and its activities, details of which you can find on the Chapel Term Card. Printed copies are available in the Porter’s Lodge, or it is available on the Chapel pages of the College website.

Do email me or contact me via room 3:3 if you would like a chat, and all College members are welcome to come to Chaplain’s Tea on Fridays from 5pm, which is always a relaxing way to end the week.
