John Henry Newman
John Henry Newman was a Fellow of Oriel from 1822 to 1846. His canonisation took place in Rome on Sunday 13 October.
John Henry Newman: Sage, Scholar, Saint
Oriel plans to celebrate Newman's canonisation by holding an academic conference co-sponsored by the National Institute for Newman Studies and the University Church.
In light of the current events regarding COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the conference, “Newman as Scholar, Sage, Saint,” until 20–22 September 2021. The Call for Papers will be extended until 31 December 2020. Please consider submitting a paper proposal.
