Mr Richard Noonan

Master of Works

I joined Oriel College as Master of Works in May 2015. I had previously been employed in a similar role for Lincoln College and prior to that, the Land Agent’s Office, a department of Oxford University.

One of my main duties is to ensure that we have the necessary procedures in place to adhere to all current legislation relating to an educational environment. I am responsible for the maintenance, refurbishment and general upkeep of all College properties, including sports, retail, commercial and agricultural. I also manage a small team of tradesmen who make up our College maintenance team. This includes all main trades, a groundsman (sports pavilion) and our boatman (boathouse).

On a less frequent basis, I will lead all client management responsibilities for major construction projects undertaken by the College.

I am the main point of contact at the college for the following areas of interest:

  • Service Contracts
  • Material Specification
  • Maintenance
  • Refurbishment
  • Project Management
  • Structural Elements
  • Land Management
  • Building, Mechanical & Electrical Systems.
