Organ Recital Series

In weeks four, five and seven of Hilary Term, all are welcome to attend a series of pre-Evensong organ recitals in the College Chapel.

Each recital, which is free to attend, will last for 30 minutes and will be followed by Choral Evensong at 6pm. The Organ Recital Series has been organised once again by College Director of Music Dr David Maw, who will also perform in the final recital in seventh week.

Sunday 5th February, 5.15pm - Paul Derrett

Paul Derrett is an organist and organ builder who studied at the Royal College of Music in London, has recorded over 30 solo CDs, and has performed organ recitals in many cathedrals all around the world.

Sunday 12th February, 5.15pm - Matthew Morley

Matthew Morley is Assistant Director of Music at St Bride’s Church. Outside St Bride's he works as a chorus-master and repetiteur with some of the UK's top professional and amateur choral groups, including The BBC Singers, English National Opera, Opera Holland Park, London Voices, Voicelab, Brighton Festival Chorus, Guildford Choral Society and Vivace Chorus.

Sunday 26th February, 5.15pm - William Davidson (violin) and David Maw (organ)

William Davidson and Dr David Maw, Oriel's Director of Music, will perform together in the final performance of this year's Organ Recital Series.
