Markus obtained a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations from the University of Warwick (UK) and an MPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford. His MPhil thesis analysed the role played by non-state actors in Western foreign policies towards the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Having graduated from the dreaming spires, he has served as an Advisor for External Affairs to the Senate of Pakistan and worked as a Career Consultant for the private British education provider “Westminster International School” in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Before returning to Oxford, he took part in the Pakistani General election of 2018, during which he worked as a Campaign Manager in the NA-62 constituency of Rawalpindi. He was responsible for the formulation, design and implementation of the campaign’s media and public outreach strategy.
He is presently reading for a DPhil in International Relations, which seeks to further build on his MPhil and examine the operations of non-state actors in the non-Western world – particularly Pakistan, Georgia, Russia, and Turkey.
