Mr Thomas Nicholas

MChem

I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2020 with an MChem.

My master’s project was supervised by Prof Andrew Goodwin and Prof Volker Deringer. The project investigated the geometric diversity in inorganic and hybrid frameworks. I am currently working towards a DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Oxford.

Research Interests

My DPhil research focuses on developing methods for elucidating the atomic structure of amorphous materials through the use of computer simulations; specifically, I use machine learning techniques to develop force-fields for, and understand the configuration space of, complex materials.
