Ms Sarah Wisialowski

MA (hons), MA, MSt

Sarah Wisialowski received her undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies and Mediaeval History from the University of St Andrews in 2017, where she developed her interest in the Hebrew Bible.

After her undergraduate degree, Sarah earned a Masters of Arts from King’s College London in 2018 and a Master of Studies from the University of Oxford in 2019. During both Masters’ programs Sarah engaged in ideas of language and use. Working under the supervision of Hindy Najman at Oxford, she continued this research focused on the Dead Sea Scrolls. Her dissertation was entitled, Models of Leadership at Qumran with particular attention to moreh ha’tzedek, maskill, and mevin.

Building off of her earlier work, Sarah’s doctoral research at the University of Oxford under the continued supervision of Professor Hindy Najman, further examines how the language of prayer interacts with notions of time in the Dead Sea Scrolls and other Second Temple texts. 

Research interests: Judaism in the Hellenistic world; prayer; time; confession; Dead Sea Scrolls.
