Victoria Gross

BA, MPhil

Victoria Gross is a wife and mother to her young daughter. Originally from New York City, she read Philosophy as an undergraduate at Columbia University and read Philosophy & Theology during her year abroad at Pembroke College, Oxford. She then received her MPhil in Philosophical Theology with distinction under the supervision of Professor Mark Edwards. She is now completing her DPhil at Oriel College.

Victoria’s research centres around the study of the human soul, and particularly the relation between the soul and memory. Her work encompasses the interdisciplinary study of philosophy of mind, theological anthropology, contemporary science, modern French philosophy and Patristics. She has particular interests in St Augustine, Plotinus and Henri Bergson.
