Oriel Has Largest College Team in Oxford Town and Gown 10k
Oriel fielded the largest college team for the second year running in the Oxford Town and Gown 10k in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK, which took place on Sunday 14th May.
A team of over 100 Oriel runners made up of students, staff, alumni and friends took on the Oxford Town and Gown 10k at the weekend to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK. The team has already raised over £600 for the charity via their fundraising page, and there is still time to donate to help the team reach their £800 target.
After gathering in Front Quad for their team photo, the Team Oriel runners made their way to the start line in University Parks and were cheered around the course by an enthusiastic team of supporters. The Provost and other college members were on hand at the finish line to hand out well-deserved snacks and to congratulate the finishers.
For those who ran, you can find your finishing times here.
This is the third year that Oriel has had an official team in the race, and the event seems to be growing in popularity each year, providing a wonderful occasion for students, staff and alumni of all running abilities to come together and raise money for a great cause. Planning for next year's race will begin when the date is announced.
