Janet is a solicitor having qualified in commercial practice. Janet worked in child protection for 20 years as Local Authority Child Care Solicitor and latterly as a Consultant solicitor. Janet also holds volunteering roles in adoption and in the charity sector.
Janet worked as College Governance Officer for academic year 23/24 before moving to the position of Academic Staff Officer. As Academic Staff Officer Janet is responsible for administration pertaining to the employment of academic staff at Oriel, including advertising new roles, organising the interview process, preparing contracts and welcoming new academics to Oxford. Janet is part of the Academic Office and also works closely with HR and Finance, and can be found in the western offices on the ground floor of Staircase 5.
