kitchen porter / assistant

(£8.25 per hour), Fixed Term Contract until November 2016

We require a Kitchen Porter/ Assistant to join our busy Kitchen team. Duties will include daily preparation and cleaning of kitchen surfaces and equipment, assisting the movement of goods into Kitchen stores and helping to provide an excellent service of food and drink for the SCR, students, staff and conference guests. You will be working as a team in order to share tasks in the Kitchen to achieve the best possible outcome. 

We are looking for candidates who have previous experience of working in a kitchen environment, are able to understand written and verbal instructions and have an understanding of food hygiene.

carpenter / joiner

c£24k, 40 hours per week

We require a Carpenter-Joiner to join the College's Maintenance team. The job-holder will carry out routine maintenance and improvements to all College property as directed by the Master of Works. Duties will include various repairs and renewals, ordering materials and purchasing of replacement carpentry stock.

The role will involve working at high levels from time to time so use of ladders and tower scaffolding would be required as well as driving the College van between the sites to collect materials.

Applicants should be able to present a positive and helpful attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. A recognised trade qualifications i.e. City & Guilds Certifications are desirable.

electrician

c£28k, 40 hours per week

This role is to ensure efficient and effective reactive maintenance and repair of electrical and associated services, installations and equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. The duties will include installation of new electrical circuits, testing, fault finding, taking meter readings, maintaining the stock and ordering materials. 

The successful candidate should have an extensive range of electrical skills and experience. The role will also involve working at high levels from time to time so use of ladders and tower scaffolding would be required as well as driving the College van between the sites to collect materials.
