Junior Dean
The College wishes to appoint a Junior Dean from 1 September 2013. Oriel College currently enjoys both a very good academic environment and a very good college atmosphere. The College has a decanal team, directed by the Senior Dean, consisting of two Junior Deans. Junior Deans in Oriel College assist the Senior Dean in enforcing the regulations of the College. The College has two Junior Deans, and they share the duties by mutual arrangement. The College will provide free accommodation in a single-person set all year round, meals, SCR membership, and a stipend of £2,500 p.a.
Applicants must be in good academic standing, must have excellent inter-personal and listening skills, and good organisational skills and tact. They must demonstrate high standards of personal and professional integrity, personal responsibility and judgment, and resilience. Applicants will possess problem-solving skills, will be effective in communication, be willing to work effectively and constructively as part of a team and will be able to relate professionally and informally to a wide range of people in College.
