Colin Bailey joined Oriel as Master of Works in February 2022, having previously been in a similar role at St Hugh’s College Oxford since 2014, and before that serving 12 years as a Local Government senior manager in Oxfordshire and Cheshire.
At Oriel, Colin is part of the Senior Management Team that oversees the strategic direction of the College’s non-academic functions. As Master of Works, he is responsible for the development, improvement, and maintenance of the College’s built environment, including an extensive portfolio of Grade 1 and 2* listed buildings. He develops the long-term programme of maintenance and refurbishment of the College estate, working with the Treasurer on the evolution and implementation of the College’s masterplan.
