698 Beer Launch

Following the success of “697,” Oriel College is rolling out the second in its line of anniversary beverages: an English extra pale ale called “698.”

Each of the beers is named according to the age of the college, and the series will culminate with a very special batch of “700” in 2026.

Introduced by the Provost, the official launch of “698” will take place in Hall from 4-6 pm on Friday 16 February 2024. The new beer will be on sale at the normal discounted student rates, so all can taste our latest brew.

All students, staff and SCR members are invited, and if you decide you like the new flavour of the beer and want to take some away with you, gift packs will be available to purchase. There is no need to register to attend.

After the launch event, “698” will be available at the JCR and MCR bars with gift packs sold from the lodge while stocks lasts.
