Nikita Jain, the JCR’s Ethnic Minorities Officer, has collaborated with the team in the Library to purchase a collection of new books on Black heritage and culture, which will be exhibited in the display case in the Library foyer until the end of October to mark Black History Month.
After Black History Month, these books will be merged with the Library’s collections. Books are available for College members to borrow whilst they are being exhibited.

Alongside the physical collection, a virtual exhibit has been created for those not in College, and it can be viewed here.
The aim of this initiative is to expand the Library’s collections in the areas of Black history and wider literature, and to make them accessible to all members of College. Over the course of the year, the JCR and the Library will continue to work together to showcase diversity in literature.
