Oriel’s housekeeping team shone last weekend as they prepared rooms and facilities for students at the Summer Institute.
Oriel is hosting four two-week sessions for undergraduate students from universities around the world in July and August as part of their Summer Institute programme.
Students attending the sessions receive teaching on a range of subjects, from British literature to economics to STEM, from Oriel’s world-class academics. They also have the opportunity to receive credits from their home institutions, which can contribute to degree conferrals.
But all this would be impossible without Oriel’s housekeeping team, who were drafted in on Saturday morning to prepare rooms and facilities for the incoming cohort of students.
Mariana Manolache, Senior Housekeeping Supervisor, explained: “It’s a tight turnaround. One cohort of students leaves Saturday, and the next arrives the following day.”
The housekeeping team worked together to ensure that everything was ready for the new students, and Mariana said she’s blessed to have such an amazing team.
The Summer Institute at Oriel College, Oxford, is a study abroad programme offered by Oriel College in partnership with WorldStrides / CBL International. The Summer Institute contracts with the colleges of the University of Oxford for use of their facilities. However, this is not done under the aegis of any university.
