In association with the University, Oriel plans to provide a scholarship for a Ukrainian refugee whose studies have been interrupted by war. With your help, these plans can become a reality.
In the past months, news of the war in Ukraine has shocked the world, and many members and friends of the College community have rightly asked how Oxford and Oriel intend to leverage our unique position in response.
In late April, the University resolved to provide 20 graduate and 20 undergraduate places – fully funded – for extremely talented Ukrainian students who would otherwise be unable to study due to the war.
Oriel has pledged to accept at least one graduate student and share some of the costs by covering College fees, living, travel, and associated expenses during their studies here. Organising such a scholarship just a few months before the start of the academic year is a huge effort, with the University, the College, and alumni pulling together to make this happen. All members of the Oriel community are invited to give whatever they can to the Oriel Ukrainian Scholarship appeal.
