Orielensis Johnnie Boden Awarded CBE in New Year Honours

From PPE student at Oriel, matriculating in 1980, to entrepreneur and global fashion brand owner, Johnnie founded British clothing brand Boden in 1991 from his living room floor, starting with just eight menswear pieces in its collection and, later, hand-illustrated catalogues created by himself and his friends. Boden diversified into women’s clothes in 1993 and then into children’s clothes in 1996. 

Thirty years later, Boden, known for its characteristically bright and eclectic prints, sells clothes for women, men and children to two million active customers globally each year.  

Through its catalogue and website, Boden has sold to twelve million customers in over 145 countries to date and has become a quintessentially British staple brand.
