The Oriel Environmental Group’s Michaelmas 2024 talk, delivered by Peter Gish (1986) on Thursday, 7 November 2024, explored Morocco’s potential as a green hydrogen gateway to Europe.
Gish has extensive experience in the acquisition, design, development, financing and operation of wind, solar and storage projects in North America, North Africa and Europe and has published several articles on renewable energy project financing.
He is the founder and co-CEO of Ortus Climate Mitigation, has given testimony before the US House Judicial Committee, Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law, and has assisted in the development of state legislation in support of renewable energy. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Connecticut Bars and has served on the Steering Committee of the National Wind Coordinating Committee. Moreover, he was lecturer in finance and public policy at the University of Massachusetts, Graduate School of Management, and a speaker at COP22. He has also spoken before the United Nations Energy Commission.
