Dr Julien Devriendt

I am an Associate Professor of Astrophysics in the Oxford University Department of Physics, and joined Oriel College as a Tutorial Fellow in Physics in 2017.

I obtained my PhD in 2000 from the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris working on the theory of galaxy formation and evolution. I subsequently became a Leverhulme post-doctoral fellow in the Astrophysics department at the University of Oxford and a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson college. Following a post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon, I became part of the Research Staff before returning to Oxford.

Research Interests

My research interests include the following areas:

  • Astrophysical Fluids
  • Dark Matter & Dark Energy
  • Galaxy Surveys
  • Large-Scale Structure
  • LSST
  • Plasma Theory
