The David N. Lyon Scholarship in LGBTQ+ Rights

The successful candidate will receive the following benefits:

  • Course fees covered at the UK/Home rate.
  • An annual living stipend in line with UKRI rates and no less than £21,805 per annum for a maximum of 3 years.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Preference for UK/Home fees status but Overseas candidates can be considered.
  • An excellent academic record with potential for outstanding future research.
  • An offer of a DPhil place at the University of Oxford and a research proposal in the area of LGBTQ+ rights (current issues or historical), which may include exploring the intersections with global policy, social justice, inclusion and technological developments.

Awards are subject to satisfactory academic progress being made, and are tenable only at Oriel College. A successful candidate with a place at another College would migrate to Oriel to take up the award.

This scholarship may not be held in conjunction with other awards where the combined value would exceed the total cost of course fees and a UKRI equivalent stipend.

Application procedure:

No separate application is required for this award, if you are eligible then you will be considered as part of your main university application.
