About Outreach at Oriel
The College’s outreach programme supports potential applicants from schools and areas that are currently under-represented at Oxford. As part of the University of Oxford’s regional outreach strategy, Oriel works primarily with schools in Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Oriel's targeted work begins with non-selective state schools in the six regions listed above. If you are a UK state school teacher who would like to support Oxford candidates more effectively, please contact India Collins-Davies, Oriel's Outreach Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The College offers several distinctive events for target schools, including:
- School visits for all ages
- Teachers’ Conference
- Attendance at Careers & HE Fairs
- Regional Hub events & collaborations with Cambridge
- Application support & interview workshops
Oriel College is also pleased to collaborate with other Oxford Colleges on the Pathways Programme.
Please also see the alternative prospectus to learn more about why our students love Oriel!
Oxford for West Midlands Consortium
Oriel is pleased to collaborate with Keble and University Colleges as part of the Oxford for West Midlands consortium. This partnership will enable the college to support the wider region better, and will supplement the existing active Outreach programme for our five linked West Midlands local authorities. Previous Oxford for West Midlands events have included a Teachers' Conference, and a series of webinars for sixth formers presented by Oxford and Cambridge colleges. Please visit the Oxford for West Midlands webpage for more information, including upcoming events.
