Stipendiary Lectureship (4 Hours) In Linguistics and Spanish

Oriel College seeks to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Linguistics and Spanish from April 2024 to the beginning of December 2025, with responsibility for teaching papers in general linguistics, Spanish linguistics, and Spanish-English translation. Candidates should have completed a doctorate in linguistics or made substantial progress towards completion thereof, have a native or near-native command of Spanish, and be equipped to undertake tutorial teaching. This is a part-time post.

The person appointed will be expected to undertake tutorial teaching for an average of 4 hours per week during term-time, covering the Prelims paper L1 (strands: Morphology, Syntax, and Semantics) and the FHS papers: Paper A (General Linguistics), Linguistics E2-Spanish V (Modern Spanish Linguistics), and Spanish II (Spanish-English translation).

The salary range for the post is £9,921-£11,116 per annum, depending on experience.  Contributory membership of USS (the Universities Superannuation Scheme) is also offered. The post-holder will also have access to a research allocation of £632 per annum. The Lecturer will be entitled to eight meals per week during term-time.
